My name is Christina Turner, the visionary behind Ready Brands.
I guess you could say I am an entrepreneur by design.
I started my first “business” when I was 12 years old, buying, selling, and repairing jewelry, headphones, and mp3 players (yes, those were still used when I was in school). I copied my service order forms and receipt templates by hand on computer paper. I earned a small fortune (a few hundred dollars but to my 12-year-old mind it was a lot of money).
I wasn’t old enough to get a job, but I desperately wanted to earn money.
My background is a story filled with memories of poverty and struggle. I remember going days and occasionally weeks without eating, and eventually being so hungry and out of options, that a spoonful of mayonnaise was a great afternoon lunch.
I remember filling up milk jugs with water from a neighbors water hose because the water was off. Washing clothes in the bathroom sink and drying them over the tops of the rooms that had doors.
I remember wanting to never live like that once I was old enough to do something about it.
I went into foster care for the 3rd time at 11 years old.
But I was grateful that my siblings and I weren’t split up. Living in that home is a story I’d rather not get into. But I was able to begin my journey making money online.
I put my repair business on hold to focus on earning online. I made a PayPal account and began charging College Students to complete their homework. My next endeavor involved surveys (and before you ask, I failed miserably). Then it was Multi-level marketing companies. After that I tried small gigs on Craigslist, and freelancing on Upwork. Then it was affiliate marketing, and PPC links. And the list goes on and on.
Sometimes I made money, sometimes I didn’t. But I knew to achieve the success and the life I wanted I could never give up.
At 17 I discovered that I had a calling on my life and what that calling was. I was supposed to help people. It was on my heart to pursue ministry and outreach. I wanted to open homeless shelters, soup kitchens, start programs for impoverished families, and provide transition programs for fostered youths after they turn 18.
I knew I had a passion for bringing businesses to life, and a deep desire to use my other talents to help others the way others helped me. This desire only added fuel to the fire. I no longer could justify not shooting for my goals to be financially independent. I could no longer be satisfied with just getting by or giving the bare minimum.
I focused my energy.
I began developing a string of businesses that would allow me to live the life I felt I was supposed to live. I continued my journey through school during this time (albeit very slowly), and took up other jobs to get by and gain experience, including selling insurance and hiring for a small call center.
Through the creation and eventual destruction of ideas and endeavors that weren’t going to be profitable, I then found myself with a few passions that had a common thread: Readiness.
I was passionate about being prepared for things that may come, such as disasters, or burglaries, or death, or unexpected emergencies and financial burdens. This embodied preparedness.
I zeroed in on why I was so passionate about business or career development.
How it meant that someone was taking a risk, and making a big life change, and needed to plan out a path and go down it. This embodied strategizing and taking the first step.
Those different ideas had a common thread, and that gave birth to Ready Brands LLC. Strategize. Prepare. Take the first step.
Ready Brands LLC fosters the principle of readiness.
Whether it’s being mentally, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually prepared for known or unexpected events in the future, or whether that’s being ready to start a new chapter in your life and own a business, or pursue a dream, or follow a passion.
Ready Brands LLC is not just a business, it’s a movement. It’s a network of people motivating each other to become who they want to be. It’s empowering yourself to push yourself further than you thought you could go, overcoming obstacles that seemed impossible, and forging your own path towards a destination you didn’t think you’d ever reach.
And it all starts with strategizing, preparing, and taking that first step…
And that’s where we come in.
